Hilary Knight started playing hockey when she was five years old and started coming to Sun Valley when she was seven. The future legend in women’s hockey played with the boys until she was fifteen. Not only was Hilary the dominant hockey player at every step in her climb to glory, she was also a leader in the rise of respect and equality for her colleagues and for all women athletes. Hilary has inspired tens of thousands of girls and women, from four year olds begging for a chance to skate to many of the finest athletes ever to pick up a hockey stick, Throughout her career Hilary has proudly listed her home as Sun Valley, Idaho, the same home we all love so much.

In 2026 we will be able to walk down Sun Valley Road with larger-than-life bronzes of Hilary Knight, Picabo Street, Kaitlyn Farrington, Christin Cooper, Muffy Davis, Susie Corrock Luby, and Gretchen Fraser. The dedication and success of such women raises us all. We are coming together to see that Hilary is honored with a bronze statue in her well deserved place in that cohort. A true Sun Valley hero!

We are off to a strong start on the $200,000 required for the beautiful bronze by Benjamin Victor of Boise. www.benjaminvictor.com
